A Story of Passion, Family, and Transmission
Carrosserie Ameline, with over 30 years of experience in the creation and construction of horse vehicles, offers safe, comfortable, and stress-free transportation for horses, meeting the highest safety standards.
We are a family business of riders and equestrian transport enthusiasts, specializing in the design, manufacture, and repair of horse trucks and vans, as well as trailers, transporters, and specialized vehicles.
Our story began in Brittany, France, when Michel Ameline, master coachbuilder and founder, decided in 1992 to create his own company and build his first horse truck.
Based in Plélan-le-Grand, he developed his first bodies on second-hand vans, combining traditional craftsmanship with an innovative vision of equestrian transport.
His experience and creativity made him a pioneer in the design of monocoque trailers, presenting his first model in 1995 at the Paris Motor Show — an innovation ahead of its time and widely recognized throughout Europe.
Over the years, the Ameline family lived to the rhythm of horse shows, professional fairs, and bodywork projects, passing down their passion for horses and commitment to quality.
Thanks to the reliability, durability, and elegance of its vehicles, the company gained prestige in France and beyond, building a loyal network of clients across Europe.
A New Generation
In 2005, the Ameline family moved to northern Spain, to Vilajuïga, to continue the adventure.
There, Julien Ameline, Michel’s son, joined the family business and learned every stage of production: design, structure, finishing, and technical innovation.
Julien trained in France within the prestigious organization Compagnons du Devoir, traveling through different cities, perfecting his craft, and refining his vision of the trade.
His dedication earned him the title of Best Apprentice of France – Gold Medal 2005.
A Natural Continuity
In 2017, Julien officially took over the company.
Under his leadership, Ameline designs evolved — manufacturing was modernized, and quality reached an even higher level, while always preserving the family and artisanal values that define the brand.
In 2022, the company inaugurated the new Ameline workshops in Vilamalla (2,500 m²) — a decisive step forward to support its growth and achieve the goal of producing over 100 vehicles per year.
